Kathy H 2 months agoClose to playhouse square and easier to get a table than places closer. Fresh, clean, crisp looking setting. Food was good and as a vegetarian I was thrilled with their bowl - healthy and yummy!!! Great happy hour wine prices also.
Natalie 2 months agoNice breakfast spot downtown. I had the trout and the Greek yogurt. The trout was priced as a meal around $16 and i was still so hungry after eating it. So i had to order something else…the Greek yogurt was a better portion and really pretty with the fruit display. My only complaint was that the trout should have some kind of side that comes with it. That is not a meal portion. Staff were attentive and friendly.
Alec Kerestesi 2 weeks agoSkip this place. Overall, Betts is the kind of mediocre dining experience that has come to define eating out in larger cities such as DC, Philly, and some parts of NYC. Overpriced, unispired, Sysco shlock that is not bad, but not worth your time or money. For details see below: The food quality is not *bad* per se, but it is just above absolutely mid. Also, portion sizes are disappointingly small. You can walk 5 minutes in any direction and get a larger breakfast that is as good or better for a much more reasonable price. I say this as someone who splurged and got their Steak and Eggs. The food was luke warm, overly salted, and left me still hungry. I have never been left hungry by a Steak and Egfs before in my life, so I guess that is an accomplishment. The service was...well, it was bad. The waitress was polite enough, but we waited 45 minutes for food and were only checked in on once. It would be one thing if they were especially busy, but they were not. They only asked me if I wanted more water once and it was after our food already came. The atmosphere was somewhere between Millennial Beige and bathroom tile. You will find more personality in a Waffle House.
Cross Aniston 4 months agoIf you are downtown and want a true 'Big City' experience, the. Come here! From the moment you walk in you are treated as though they are lucky to and honored to have you there. The art of guest experience has dwindled down and almost non-existent nowadays. Not at Betts! (I am not a paid comment) I am though a chef from the west coast here on a 36 hour vaykay to see SUFFS. Walked into this establishment to waste some time, and have been transported to Chicago or even NYC. From the personable and quite singing hostess, Aseelah, to the prestinr manager and bartender Dawud who says he is not a barista but willake you a beautiful cappachino that you see on food network. The extreme professional yet personal Jeff who knows what the true art of server presence is. And to top it off Malikee who came up with the answer to an off the wall random question I asked. In a sleek hotel/apt/dwntn spot that you would expect it, they still go over and beyond, while letting you enjoy a personal experience of just enjoying your time. I can't remember the last time I enjoyed sitting at a restaurant that wasn't mine in a long time. On top of the elevated service... Please do the mimosa flight with TOSO champagne. Their sante fe bowl with a whole avocado worth of guac on it, shrimp and grits and the breakfast burger. And side note, the best version of Happy Birthday I've ever heard. In a smaller size city, they give extreme big city vibes that has to be experienced!
Jeancarlo Gomez 8 months agoEnvironment was relaxed, cool, and welcoming. Had some complimentary drinks and a Tuna Appetizer that was very delicious. For dinner we decided based on recommendation to get the lamb rack with roasted sweet potatoes and roasted Brussels sprouts. Food was cook very well and presented amazingly. Overall Kevin our bartender and server provided excellent service and great suggestions. Finished off the night with a Pacifico. Dawu was also a great help and very friendly.
