Garry Ero 2 months agoOk so we wanted to try this place because it is owned by Tiffany Faison. Let’s start with the amazing . The biscuits are the most moist yet crunchy outer layer combo I have ever had the were a great way to kick it off so don’t order just one get the bucket. They give you honey butter with it. I recommend the house made strawberry jelly. That jelly could go on anything it is perfectly sweet not overly chunky but on the thick yet still able to slide off the biscuit (this ended up being my dessert later). On to our appetizer the Caroline gold snoked wings. These were coated so perfectly so tangy so gooey but not sticky. They also were perfection. On to our entrees. We both got the 2 meats with 2 sides. I chose pulled chicken and Brisket. Chicken was amazing perfect rub perfect flavor great pick. The brisket was dry, tasted ok but dry. My wife got the 10 hour smoked ribs which were by far the best Texas style rib I have ever had so incredibly tender perfect amount of dry rub on them they were insane. She also got the brisket and hers was drier than mine ( I didn’t know you could get drier than dry ). Now the disappointing/terrible part the sides. I got the baked beans and the collard greens. First of all I thought everything was bigger in Texas if you call yourself a Texas style BBQ you better bring the big. All sides were in a hard plastic version of the containers they give you condiments in to take home maybe 4 tablespoons. That’s not a side that is a spoon full. Second both my sides were terrible zero flavor what so ever. My wife got Mac and cheese and potato salad. The potato salad was just ok. The Mac and cheese was horrible. It taste like the cheese you get with the round nacho chips to dip into. It was so bad we both took one bite and threw it away. Overall I would give this place a 3.8 but for $195 get some biscuits, ribs or pulled chicken and that’s all everything else was either not good or terrible. Being a food network star owns this establishment ( at least that’s what the internet says ) I expected more but being the best biscuits and ribs came from here I stand by my 3.8. Try it for yourself.
Aurora Wilks 2 months agoFinally went to sweet cheeks after purposefully avoiding it for years now. The review I frequently got from others was that the biscuits are good and everything else is “mid” but I disagree! The biscuits are very good, more could be done with the butter flavor wise, but biscuits are not the only seller on the menu! My favorite was the server recommendation of the pulled pork with the apple cider vinegar 10/10. Potato salad has a solid classic flavor and the broccoli casserole was surprisingly flavorful. The chopped brisket, their version of burnt ends, had good flavor and good bite with the bark. Overall worth the visit! Great and friendly service as well!
I Rush a month ago2 stars for crispy chicken, otherwise I would give it 1 star. I ordered takeout. 4 piece fried chicken, Mac & cheese, collards and a brownie sundae. Very disappointing. The chicken skin was crispy but was not very flavorful and the meat itself had literally no flavor to it at all. The macaroni was overcooked and again, the mac and cheese itself not very flavorful. The greens were ok. Desert ok. I've ordered here in the past and the sides are always just ok. The meat usually good. Not sure what happened here, definitely not worth the $40 I paid. This will most likely be my last order.
Regina Ferguson 3 months agoIt was our first time to Sweet Cheeks Q and I will definitely be back. Haile was welcoming from the moment we hit the door and guided us through the menu. We had late lunch so it wasn't packed. The silent bee lemonade is a must try if you like ginger. The biscuits and honey butter need their own post... sinfully delectable. Enjoyed the brisket and broccoli casserole but since I'm a light weight, I could not finish my food. But there's always room for dessert. I got the brownie sundae while my friend got the oreo banana pudding. I shimmied.... I will definitely be back on my next visit to Boston.
Zach Rogers 2 months agoSo I’m from Atlanta and I also make mean bbq as well. I am very spoiled with good bbq all over Atlanta and have a bias being that my family is from Texas. For Boston, northeastern bbq, I can understand why this place is so loved. Big portions for decent prices. When it comes to best bbq ever? Not even close, the Mac and cheese was creamy, not cheesy with ritz crackers on top, I don’t understand why it’s $1 more…the beef rib, I needed to cover in sauce, was way too fatty, had no bark, and desperately needed salt. Potato salad was rock solid. Fried okra? Might be the best I’ve ever had. Loved the house sauce, took a bottle home. I think if I would have ordered the brisket and jalapeño cheddar sausage, and collards instead of Mac, my review would be much higher. It’s not bad, but it’s not Georgia or Texas style bbq.
