Very much appreciated a gluten-free dessert option. We came here for the Calas, made from rice flour. I got them without the condensed milk. If you do that, I suggest asking for extra honey, mine were a bit dry but otherwise good. My husband of the Beignets and said they were good too

This is where we tried frog legs for the first time. Well… for me, it was definitely the first and the last time — I won’t be doing that again. The meat tastes somewhere between chicken and fish, but overall it’s not for the faint-hearted. It’s honestly hard to get past the realization that you’re eating a swamp frog. The legs themselves were huge, which only added to the feeling of disgust. That said, the café itself is very nice. Friendly waitress, fast service, and a great location. We really enjoyed the place overall.

Cool spot to try some of the southern food while being gluten free! Starting with the negative, calas were disappointing. Very dense and had whole pieces of rice inside. But! Gumbo was soooo tasty and the chicken and waffles were simply outstanding! Will come back next time we are in New Orleans!

Highly recommend if you are gluten free and looking for fried chicken or a beignet alternative! I got the GF chicken & waffles and it was so tasty. I also tried the gumbo, alligator bites and Calas (all gluten free!). We liked everything we got. Also the service was great and it was perfect weather to sit on the patio. Such a lovely location and view.

I wish I could give Bons 100 stars!! I am celiac, and not only is finding a restaurant with gluten-free food hard, but it is even harder to find GOOD gluten-free food. I have never been to a restaurant with so many gf choices. I ordered the pork tacos, fried gator bites, and chicken and waffles. Every bite was phenomenal. I wish a Bons would open up where I live and I would go everyday.
