Was in New Orleans for 5 days. One of the best spot I’ve had. Big portions and great prices. All the workers were super nice and sweet. You get your moneys worth here. I recommend the Fried chicken and mac Blacked fish red beans and rice

Heard Dat Kitchen serves incredibly elevated home cooking. We were lucky enough to meet Chef Jeff, and it was interesting hearing about how many different family recipes came together to create the delicious dishes they serve. It’s a family-run restaurant with warm, welcoming service, and you can tell the love that they put into the cooking. The fried chicken was perfectly juicy, the fish was lightly fried and fresh, and the sides were incredible. The wings with skeesh sauce are super crunchy and are the perfect blend of salty and sweet. You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. A must stop when in New Orleans.

Chef Jeff!! You lived up to the hype! What a cool street side kitchen you have. Loved the food! And the spicy crawfish ball you made that we were lucky to get to try! A pleasure meeting your 18 yr old daughter (I was guessing but given she didn’t correct me I musta been close!). What a cool family and restaurant you have. Wishing you huge successes! We ordered the Mardi Gras Mambo, Nola Jazz (fried chicken), Crawdat Cornbread, macaroni and cheese, Onion Rings, bread pudding, and sweet tea for takeout. Unfortunately, the food fell short on flavor. The fried fish in the Mardi Gras Mambo and the fried chicken in the Nola Jazz both lacked seasoning, and the sides that came with them were quite bland. Coming from Texas, perhaps our seasoning standards are a bit high. The macaroni and cheese was flavorless. The cornbread was nicely sweet, but the sauce made it soggy by the time we got to our Airbnb. Since it was a to-go order, it would have been better if the sauce had been served on the side. The sweet tea was great and would have been better if it was colder. The lady who took our order was noticeably short, rushed, and somewhat rude, which added to the disappointing experience. Given the prices, the overall quality and service just didn’t add up. It’s hard for me to recommend this spot.

Found this place close to our rental in NOLA in central district. Our service was very friendly and hospitable. The food was al fresh and the quality was quite noteworthy. They had a great mac and cheese as well. The portions were well given, but nothing to weigh you down. Would definitely recommend, and really appreciated the good experience.
