Phenomenal tacos, drinks, and service. The waitstaff greets you with a smile is very attentive. The tacos (I got combo with asada, carnitas, and all pastor) were perfect- definitely a top 3 taco of my life. The drinks (I got margarita and the 3 little birds) were exceptional. It’s a stand out restaurant and I feel very good about this restaurant. 6/5. Highly recommended!!

La Puerta is a neighborhood gem perfect for any time of day. We dropped in for lunch Friday afternoon and how perfect it was! Service was fast despite a busy lunch crowd (although they seem busy all times of day). Highly recommend the signature street tacos, mix and match three. They’re true to the street taco vibe - simple, packed, and delicious. Had the carnitas (as expected), ranchero shrimp (good flavor and volume of shrimp), and the pollo asado (true winner here. I don’t order chicken out and these were exceptional). Awesome too is that the tacos come with refried beans, rice (ours was a little dry), and raja con crema (if you haven’t had it, you’re going to love it. Poblano peppers, onions and corn sautéed in sour cream.. amazingggg). On top of the tacos, we ordered a side of fries. There’s a whole section of the menu dedicated to loaded fries so we wanted to try the fries in their natural form. Perfectly cooked- crispy but meaty, just the right amount of crunch. All in all, fantastic meal. Would recommend and come back!

I stopped by La Puerta during happy hour and it did not disappoint. The half-off pupus were an unbeatable deal, and the portions were surprisingly large, definitely great value for the price. Everything was flavorful and satisfying. The bartender was also very cool and welcoming. I’ll definitely be back for happy hour when I’m in SD again!

Awesome place. Awesome service. Good food. My 1lb burrito seemed 3oz beef but it was good. The Sober drink was super good and distinct, absolutely recommend. The crema is true Mexican style- nice touch. Ate my burrito tortilla dipping into the crema.

This place serves authentic Mexican food with very good quality. The tacos and quesadillas were both quite tasty. However, the atmosphere was a bit loud and had a hippy vibe.
