We went on a Sunday and sat at the bar. My 2 cocktails made by Grant were the Old Fashioned and the Spicy Margarita. Both awesome. My wife and I split the Bacon Chicken Ranch Mac and Cheese. My wife Jo said it was better than Kid Cashew’s. I think she may be right. We split 6 Nuggs. Jo did not want any sauce. They were so good we did not need any. Noise level is moderate. We lyfted. If you drive here park in a neighborhood and walk a few blocks. We will be back and bring friends.

While I was sad to see Zara Jane’s close, Painted Rooster is quite good! The tenders are large and tasty. The Parmesan dipping sauce was great while the pineapple teriyaki (I think!) was mild. The ranch tasted homemade and was great with the fries. Although the seasoned fries were already very good. Large portions for the fries! The Cole slaw was also fresh, but the portion is a little small for $4. Rainy day but some of the outdoor seating was still well covered. Will be back to try the wings! Oh and they do have the option for cauliflower wings for our vegetarian friends.

I got the chicken sandwich with hot sauce and waffle fries. The fries were nice and hot. The chicken in the sandwich was over cooked. The bacon was not crispy, it was so hard I had to check to see if I had a piece of wood in my sandwich. Over all it was just a ok sandwich. I would not make a special trip to come here.

Excellent food, very nice vibes. Welcoming and delicious always goes together! Drinks start @ $10/11... about $75 for two is average.

After a long day out with my almost 9-year-old, came into the Painted Rooster to grab some grub and check out a place I had never been to. I moved away from Plaza-Midwood in 2018 for Concord (better school district) and don't get to this side of town much anymore. But today we had an event nearby so it was the perfect opportunity for a little food adventure. We were sat quickly and the place was hopping! My son and I were served by the very welcoming Riker. He was quick to bring us our drinks and super knowledgeable about the menu, all the more impressive when later he told me it was only his first week. He walked through the options and was great with my kid too. Now - the food! We split some nuggets as well as the chicken bacon ranch Mac N Cheese. Everything was absolutely amazing! The nuggets are crispy and fresh, the sauce offerings well varried and delicious ( I recommend the Cheerwine BBQ ), but the star for me was the mac n cheese. This place has unseated Jack Beagle's as the King of mac n cheese in Charlotte in my opinion. Can't recommend highly enough
