Come with me on a journey. It’s been a looong travel day. You’re STARVED but want something light but fill you up with a little kick. THIS THE SPOT. The crag Rangoon roll better than I expected and my own little special roll were 12/10s. Even better. I walked my happy butt over to the monument and found a nice picnic table by the water, there’s live music playing, the slight breeze keeping it cool… couldn’t ask for anything better on a Tuesday evening. Sushi Boss is the move. Def coming back.

Sushi Boss really hit the spot. It was late, I was hungry, and just wanted sushi. This place was a block away and pretty empty, which I liked. Got a seat by the window with a clear view of the Soldiers Monument, and also there was some kind of light show going on across the street… it made the whole thing better without trying. I ordered the Wicked Spicy Tuna Roll. Seaweed wrap, spicy tuna, cucumber, avocado, green onion, sesame seeds and the Boss sauce. This is exactly why I like sushi. It’s simple, but the flavor is there. The tuna had a nice kick, not too much, just enough to keep it interesting. The avocado smoothed it out, cucumber gave it that fresh crunch, and everything just worked together. The sauce tied it all in, a little creamy, a little heat, nothing overpowering. Every bite felt clean but still packed with flavor. Didn’t feel heavy, just easy to keep going. Late night, good food, and a good view.

I’m a huge fan of Poke Bowls and this one didn’t disappoint me! What surprised me was the price. For just under 12 bucks, you can get a pretty tummy-filling bowl (or a roll). They have a quite ‘bold’ and unusual choices for you to mix-and-match. Located just right in the Circle, I think this could be a go-to for most people coming out of Indy say for business or conference purposes. Ambience-wise, this place also has a very pleasant lighting and decorations.

I ordered 2 sushi trays for a party and I was very pleased to learn that even with such a large order, they still make the rolls right before delivery. There was a misunderstanding that led to some issues but the team and Jason went above and beyond to get the order fulfilled and make sure I was satisfied. I will definitely be returning to sushi boss in the future! Side note: They do have gluten free sushi options and will provide gluten free soy sauce, which is so nice!

This was a gem of a place to eat at. I would come back to Indianapolis just to eat here again. I'm not usually a sushi fan, but you cannot beat the prices and freshness of the food - I ate it up so fast. You can build your own roll or bowl with a great selection that is allergy or diet friendly for anyone dairy-free, gluten-free, vegetarian, etc. Ordering was quick and easy, staff were helpful and receptive. Loved the decorations too. So glad we chose this place!
