The Guy a month agoAt 11 a.m. on just their third day since opening, the energy in the restaurant already felt welcoming and well organized. The staff, including the general manager, were genuinely enthusiastic about the menu and took the time to explain the different food options and flavors they offer. Everything tasted extremely fresh, and honestly, the quality stood out even compared to places like Ono Hawaiian BBQ. The location is also very convenient, especially with Hawaiian coffee available right next door. Overall, it was a great experience and definitely a solid choice if you’re craving a Hawaiian-style version of Chipotle Mexican Grill. I’d absolutely come back again.
Marie Jacobs a month agoSuch a great spot! Staff was super friendly, attentive, & kind. The atmosphere is great - vibey music playing, great Arizona related decor. Easy to read and order menu. And of course, the food TASTES STELLAR! I got both of the chicken types and YES the mini plate size was enough for me. They also gave me extra sauces to try - what a bonus! Great new restaurant addition to downtown Phoenix. I will definitely be back :)
Pam Martin a month agoI just got back from Hawaii, so naturally, I'm now an expert on everything Hawaiian and have been craving mac salad and Kalua pork something fierce. I wandered in here not knowing what to expect (ignoring the closed for training sign) on a soft launch training day and was greeted by a chorus of excited 'alohas'. The setup is similar to chipotle/panda express...just order down the line and pay at the register. I ordered a 'mini' meal, with kalua pork and teriyaki chicken-- but since they were training -- , I'm pretty sure they hooked me up with the regular. At any rate the food looked and tasted great! The pork and teriyaki sauce was SUPER salty, and I love salt, but even for me it was a bit much, maybe I just got a salty batch... I ate it with the rice and mac salad to level out the saltiness. There were at least 25 employees there training. They were very energetic and friendly , and it was very busy, so the chaos of all of that was a little overwhelming for me. I hope once they open for real, the energy and food quality is maintained. This will be added to my regular dt phx restaurant rotation. I can't say it was EXACTLY like the food I ate in Hawaii, but it was pretty darn close.
Eric a month agoWe ordered three meat plates, and as Hawaiian food fans who have tried most spots in the Valley, this one definitely stands out. The atmosphere and service were great—strong island vibes from the moment you walk in. The food overall was solid, with the mac salad being the best we’ve had in the Valley. All chicken options were flavorful with a nice char, and the shrimp tempura was made fresh. The teri steak was just okay, but still enjoyable. The only downside was the raw shredded cabbage under the meat—it didn’t add much and took away from the experience a bit. Steaming it like other places would be a big improvement. Portions were generous, and we’d definitely come back.
Marie Dong a month agoCame for the grand opening experience and they did not disappoint! My mom and I got to try their shredded pork and chicken combo. It was delicious and she very much enjoyed the masubi too. Staff were friendly and efficient. Space was clean and inviting. Parking was a breeze at cityscape garage. Highly recommend in the area!
