Jenn Jarkow 3 weeks agoSo cute! Packed but still some open stools, but it doesn't matter because it felt like sitting with friends. Everyone was nice to each other and understanding of the tight space. The place is super cute, the bartender was wonderful. So nice. My food never came but he was very concerned never charged me for anything, and all the other stuff I saw coming out looked amazing. A girl near me got SUSHI ICE CREAM shut up. The entrance is through a black steel door that's kind of heavy hard to open, down a looooong narrow alleyway. I think that adds to the charm. I would try again if Im ever back in town.
Sophia Lam a month agoSuch a nice vibe here with really good happy hour!! We tried some dumplings, skewers, and fun drinks! There’s not too much room, but at the same time, it’s more cozy and intimate. I highly recommend!!!
Jonathan Walker 3 months agoWent about 10 days ago on our trip to Philly, and we absolutely loved it. We didn’t know it was there but saw the little neon hanging, so we figured we’d see what was down the alley, and we were thrilled that we did. We had the cheesesteak bao buns to eat, and there hasn’t been a day since that I haven’t thought about how good they were. I’ve also kicked myself for not going to get more on this visit…but I will be back. The buns were the single best thing I ate on my trip, and at times I felt like I ate half of Philadelphia, so my praise is honest. They had an n/a drink menu, so I had the Bangkok Bloom, and I really liked the hibiscus (one was plenty; the flavor can be a little one-note), and was happy they had a few offerings for non-drinkers. My girlfriend had the Kantoi Road and really liked the chili and tamarind flavors, and even though she wasn’t quite as high on the buns as I was, she’d still give them a 9. It was a great visit, and we definitely will go back, and my only nitpick is that it seemed like the bartenders were a bit aloof, and it was difficult to figure out where to get an order in. I wasn’t the only one that had an issue, but it was minimal, and once someone came over, they were super helpful. We can’t wait to go back, and I’m getting some to go next time.
Aleja Veintimilla a year agoI had high hopes for this spot—the atmosphere is absolutely beautiful. It’s a relaxing and quiet place, even when it gets packed, which made for a pleasant dining experience. The staff were wonderful: attentive, friendly, and always checking in to make sure we were comfortable. Service was definitely one of the highlights. The food, unfortunately, didn’t live up to its presentation. We tried a variety of dishes from their menu, which they have other menu for vegetarian and gluten-free options—something I appreciated for accessibility. That said, the quality and flavor were hit or miss. The kimchi rice unexpectedly came with shrimp, which wasn’t listed on the menu, and it lacked flavor. The broccoli was bland, and the noodles were dry with barely any seasoning. On the brighter side, the chicken on a stick and the bun sandwich were both excellent—full of flavor and perfectly cooked. Those two dishes really stood out. Their drink menu is surprisingly more extensive than their food offerings, and the drinks themselves were great. One thing to note: they need to keep a card on file for an open tab, which could be a small inconvenience depending on your visit. Overall, while the service and drinks were impressive, I wouldn’t return for the food. It looks much better than it tastes.
Anne Margaret White a year agoStopped by for a nightcap - and so happy we did. Felt a little odd squeezing down that skinny alley, but enjoyed the artwork. The door is all the way at the end on the right. Loved the portal windows to see what we were getting into. Bartender was fabulous. Drinks were innovative and fun. Would love to come back to try the food. Very fun!
