I’m glad we stopped here to eat. We had a taste for smoked barbecue while on a roadtrip and this place did not disappoint. I enjoyed the blackberry BBQ Salmon and fries, the barbecue butter sauced shrimp for an appetizer and a K.C. Lemonade. We also had the K.C. Combo #2 and two orders of chicken tenders and fries with a round of strawberry lemonade for the family. There was 4 of us total present. The restrooms were clean. The ambiance has intimate lighting and still maintains a family friendly environment for all to enjoy. This place was very busy with people lined up outside into the parking lot. So I’m happy that we were able to get a table especially by the fireplace. Whenever we do return to K.C., we will definitely stop by again. My husband and I recently celebrated his birthday at your esteemed establishment. Upon our arrival, we were pleasantly surprised to find a birthday card awaiting him at our table, a gesture we found to be exceptionally thoughtful. He was also presented with a complimentary carrot cake at the end of our meal, complete with candles. The food was exceptionally well-prepared; both the beef and lamb were fall-off-the-bone tender, making it remarkably moist. The burnt ends were okay. We did not sample the pork. Additionally, the takeout carrot cupcakes were delightful. Our server appeared to be exceptionally busy, requiring us to seek assistance on two occasions. We also requested additional beverages at the conclusion of our meal, which unfortunately were not delivered, leading us to proceed with our takeout order and depart. Aside from these minor issues, our overall experience was excellent. Thank you! I would definitely recommend this establishment. Additionally, I would advise making reservations in advance, as it is a very busy restaurant.

We went here when we first got into town from a drive from Omaha. The atmosphere is really nice and upscale, and the staff is very friendly. The food was taken to us quickly and we liked everything we got. I loved the fruity cocktail I got. I got the macaroni & cheese with the pulled pork on the side with French fries - I loved it all! My boyfriend got the Kansas City combo with ribs and brisket with coleslaw. He liked it, as well. The parking is also nice since they have a designated parking lot just for the group of restaurants, making it easy to find a spot. Highly recommend this place!

A beautiful and scrumptious experience at the great Jack Stack Barbecue - Freight House, BBQ restaurant! What a beautiful experience all around from the food, service, and environment. From beef ribs, pork ribs, burnt ends, and the sides, everything put a good taste in my mouth. This restaurant understands the line between good and pretty BBQ, and there's eats for all. Located in Kansas City, Missouri, the outside seating and scene was crazy, the added touches of wood and bbq decor was on point, and the culture was lovely. The food made me excited! The sampler was the best way to try many of the meats and sides, and I couldn't find one wrong thing with the food. Being from Chicago, I don't get burnt ends often, so these little meat candles were great! The meat is super tender, and I kept my clean bone for a souvenir. Great food! The service was great! When you get a great server, the experience goes up. The server was well spoken, and sold us on menu items to try. Our water cups stayed full, and our drinks were refilled before asking. Lovely great service! The environment is just what you want - bbq, pictures, decor, and bbq culture all around. Love the wood pit as decor, love the setting, the clinking of plates and laughter as everyone came together, the outside and inside settings, everything was great. There's plenty of parking in the free parking lot. Vegetarian sides are available. Wheelchair accessible entrance, and price point is $20-$30 per person.

WOW! Everything was amazing! Had a large group so sampled most of the BBQ, Crown Beef Rib was my favorite! Service was amazing, Gregory even convinced me to try the Carrot Cake (it was worth it). Emily (manager) gave us a quick tour of the Smoker and we met Zach (Pit Master), without a doubt my favorite dinner in KC! The Beef is local and they even source their own wood. You know it’s going to be great when you smell the flavor from outside.
