So good to see Eats back in business! Jerk chicken tastes just like it used to. The broccoli casserole and Mac & cheese was on point, too. Also, super affordable compared to everything else at Lee + White. $11 special is gonna be my new regular weekend treat.

We heard a lot of hype about Eats and that it would be a good, cheap add to Lee + White. We ended up very disappointed. While the food is cheap, it was also pretty flavorless: flavorless collard greens, beans, rice, and corn bread. The turkey meatloaf was also lacking in flavor and was, somehow, watery? The only saving grace was the jerk chicken, which was just okay — pretty tender and some decent flavor. We also tried a friend’s broccoli casserole, which also seemed pretty decent. All in all, we didn’t finish most of our food and won’t be returning. Before eating at Eats, we wondered why the Wild Heaven patio was super empty at 6 PM on a Friday. After eating at Eats, it became super clear that the change in Wild Heaven’s restaurant partner caused it. We’ll head a few doors down to El Tesoro next time we’re at Lee + White.

I’ve gotta be honest, I am so confused why people are obsessed with Eats. We’ve eaten here several times now to give it a solid chance. And I will say, the chicken is tender and well seasoned. But everything else is… very ok. Dry, dry flavorless cornbread. The rice and beans are also very unseasoned and flavorless. The pasta and lasagna and mac and cheese… just ok. Also having this particular menu at a brewery is honestly puzzling. Eating lasagna outside when it’s 80 degrees just doesn’t make the best vibe. Really miss having el Tesoro in the space.

I know we as a community are glad to have EATS back, but there is something that's just not clicking for me at this new location.

It tastes the same. The restaurant smells the same. The booths are the same. There’s a whole bunch of delicious beer to drink alongside the food!
