I really don’t enjoy writing negative reviews, and if you look at my past experiences, you’ll see I’m generally easy to please and understanding. That said, basic courtesy and respect are non-negotiable for me—and unfortunately, that’s where this place fell short. My wife and I stopped by around 10:30 a.m. hoping to grab breakfast, specifically the avocado toast we had seen listed on their website. We waited in line for about 10 minutes, which was completely fine—we’re patient and understand that mornings can get busy. However, when we finally reached the counter, the interaction we had was disappointing. When my wife politely tried to place the order, the employee responded abruptly with, “We don’t got that. Been discontinued for a month,” and then simply walked away without offering any alternatives or even basic courtesy. The tone was dismissive and came across as unnecessarily rude. It wasn’t about the item being unavailable—menus change, and that’s understandable. It was the lack of professionalism and respect that stood out. There are plenty of breakfast spots in the area that value their customers and treat them kindly. I’d recommend taking your business elsewhere. No one should feel disrespected when simply trying to order a meal. The place is nice, but not worth it due to the services in my honest opinion.

First time here. Staff was inviting and friendly. Service was excellent and food was ready almost instantly. Exceptional experience and amazing food!! I got the Vegan Comfort Bowl, super sized, with a side of sweet potato noodles and a dragon fruit lemonade.

Been here three times. First time was on my bday and even though it was close to closing the food was amazing. They did make a couple of minor mistakes that I could have dealt with, but they were very up front when I came in and explained the confusion and even fixed it on the house (I could have made it work but they were insistent on making it right). I don't eat out often because of dietary restrictions, and normally finding healthier food is either expensive or bland and dry. This place is cheaper than others I have been to in Jacksonville, have things like whole wheat options (I think including their macaroni noodles) and some amazing sweet potato noodles I've never tried before but now is my go-to base. They're also open later than the place I used to go to (10p) and when they have great parking. Inside is nice but I always order online and take home. The lady manager I spoke with today was super helpful and the team working for her were all nice too. I don't really leave reviews, but it's rare to find good food places that also treat you like more than a transactional customer and also work to make things right when they're not, without making you feel like a bad person for bringing it up. Thank you to the team for the service!

I really wanted to like this place, and I try to keep my reviews positive. But the price we paid was just too expensive for the quality and the experience we got. We ordered the regular Malibu bowl for $19 and a regular super blue antioxidant bowl for $15, making it close to $50 after tax. Pics below. With the Malibu bowl, the food was well seasoned and had a good taste. But it was lukewarm to cold. I asked to add pickled onions which I didn’t get. My girlfriend enjoyed her super blue bowl, but for $15, it felt too small. And for dining in, the presentation wasn’t all that great. Good açaí bowls are works of art. This felt like the ingredients were just casually layered on top and then smushed with the lid. But the biggest reason for my low ratings was the state of the restaurant itself. The place was a mess. Cardboard boxes everywhere, huge crumbs in the cookie display, crumbs all over the tables, an empty and unplugged display case with the power cord draped over the front of the case, and two of the four menu TVs were black with that “loading” circle icon in the middle. I feel like for the prices they’re charging, this place should be clean, tidy, and presentable. Complacency kills and while the staff seemed like they’re all good people, I dunno, man. It felt like they’re all kinda complacent. Checked out? The dude who served us at the register was cool though. He seemed like he cared and was doing his best. Reading the other reviews, I get the impression that this place was once a really great spot, but that something happened recently and it started to decline pretty fast. We paid about $50 and got a $20 experience. In 2026, with the cost of everything increasing so dramatically, I’m sorry but this is inexcusable. I really hope they can turn it around. But I fear that with the state of the world right now, and just how stressed, stretched thin everyone is, and how quickly everything is getting more expensive, the owners and staff of Vale don’t/won’t have what it takes to fix this. My favorite açaí bowl place, Juice Tap, near the IKEA closed recently. They were dramatically higher quality and a better value. But they couldn’t survive this climate. I truly hope that Vale can. But they need to make changes now.

We were looking for some plant based food near the Riverwalk in Jacksonville Florida and stumbled on Vale. They had a really good selection of plant based options so we decided to share a regular bowl. Good thing we shared, so much food even 2 of us had trouble finishing it! So excellent value for the money 💰. Miracle and Rosa were also outstanding, really exemplify good customer service by explaining everything, showing us all the vegan options we could choose from, sharing recommendations and even letting us sample the vegan chili and buffalo chicken strips they offer. We love build your own style restaurants because you get exactly what you want. We didn't even get to explore the acai bowls and smoothies!! We found our new favorite place in Jacksonville that can please anyone, plant based or not as they offer traditional healhtier options of various animal proteins. We are definitely coming back very soon!
