The meal started on a high note. The bread is warm, fresh, and the perfect way to kick off the meal. I also highly recommend the kale salad; it was well-dressed and surprisingly one of the highlights of the night. For the main course, I tried the beef stew. While it was okay, it didn't quite have the "wow" factor of the starters. The rice was good. The service was excellent. Even with the restaurant being completely full, the staff was attentive, fast, and made us feel well-taken care of. The only downside is the layout. The restaurant is very popular and can get quite packed. The dining area felt a bit cramped, and because it was so crowded, the noise level was high. It’s a great spot for a lively group dinner, but perhaps a bit too loud if you’re looking for a quiet conversation.

Every single aspect of this restaurant is a five. Incredibly knowledgeable and accommodative staff, the food is beyond description. So much flavor, so much attention to detail paid to the outcome. Every single bite we enjoyed was better than the last. You don't want to miss this place when you're in Washington. You'll find that the food is approachable unprepared so well that it leaves you craving it. These folks are definitely on to something. Can I imagine coming back to D.C. Without stopping here for at least one meal. Special mention to our server Lilly at the bar. So incredibly knowledgeable about not just the drinks but the food. She took such excellent care of us. A++++

Rumi’s Kitchen is our favorite date night spot. It’s always crowded, and honestly, it’s always worth the wait. The food is consistently impeccable, fresh, and full of flavor. The lamb is absolutely delicious—tender, perfectly seasoned, and cooked to perfection. The hummus and eggplant dish are both outstanding and must-order items every time we visit. And the bread? We simply cannot get enough of it. Warm, fresh, and the perfect complement to every dish on the table. The combination of amazing food, great atmosphere, and consistently excellent service keeps us coming back. If you’re looking for a memorable dining experience, Rumi’s Kitchen never disappoints.

SO GOOD & unique! I went to Rumi’s while in a conference at the convention center, with no big expectations, hoping for some good food. The place surprised me and won my heart (and tummy!): the offer complementary sparkling water with lemon/lime and a complementary dish called sabzi that comes with warm pita bread, greens, cheese, radish and walnuts. I ordered a koobideh kabob with a side of lebneh. The plate is huge! Make sure to ask for half rice half salad because it is really big, so you can taste both. They also provide this delicious mixture of spices called sumac. The drinks are unique, beautifully served, and yeah: they do have alcohol! Service was great, a lot of employees but everyone was do nice! Will recommend and come back, but will y a reservation if coming at a busy time. 4pm on a Wednesday I didn’t need one. Price good for DC, especially for the amount of food and drinks. Love it!!!

Such a great experience at Rumi’s! It’s been recommended by a number of people and I’m so glad I finally gave it a try. Food was incredible — full of flavor with great portions. Quick to come to the table too. The ambiance is really nice, and the service couldn’t have been better. Alyssa was so warm and helpful! Will definitely be back.
