the host took about 5 minutes to go and "find" us a table in the back of the restaurant. half the tables/booths were completely open. we were seated without menus so the hostess had to come back with then. we waited for approximately 10 mins with staff walking past us with no acknowledgement. our waiter then walked by and apologized. he returned about 5 minutes later so we placed our orders so we could get our food in a reasonable time. the table behind us were served their drinks in paper cups. after another 10 minutes i got the beer i ordered (over 30 minutes after arriving). Our food came came out promptly but one of our meals was incorrectly prepared. Our waiter never returned after we got our food.....except to bring our bill. i had to go to the bar to get another beer and a soda refill. the food was just okay. i wouldn't recommend this restaurant, or return in the future.

We went to lunch here while we were spending time in D.C. The waitstaff was very friendly and attentive. I got the Fish and Chips and it was the best that I have ever had. It was so good that my daughters ended up eating half of mine vs the chicken tenders they ordered. My wife got an Impossible Burger and that was really good also. She let me try some and I could not believe that it was not real beef. The prices were also very reasonable. Overall we had a great experience and would definitely go back.

We came here on a whim after a long day of site seeing and were very happy and impressed with our experience. We were immediately seated with a large group (7) and the service was top notch. The food was amazing and flavorful as well as plentiful and extremely well priced. I highly recommend the blue cheese burger and noble salad. The have a wonderful beer selection too!!

We had a great experience at Elephant & Castle in DC, and a big part of that was our waitress, Nicole. She was spunky, a little feisty (in the best way), and completely on top of everything. She made sure we got our orders quickly and checked on us often—more than the typical “once and disappear” you get at a lot of places. What really stood out was how helpful her recommendations were. She steered us away from ordering a shareable poutine and suggested the side instead, which was absolutely the right call—there’s no way we could have finished the large. She also recommended getting the dressing on the side for my salad, and that was spot on. Nicole was attentive, efficient, and genuinely cared about our experience. She treated my elderly parents with kindness and respect, which meant a lot to me. At the same time, she had a confident, no-nonsense attitude that made it clear she knew exactly what she was doing—and she didn’t take any nonsense from anyone. If you go, definitely ask for Nicole. She made our visit memorable!

Went here twice last week because I enjoyed the shepherds pie so much. Second time I got the chicken pot pie. Great food and atmosphere out on the patio. Server was helpful and attentive both times. Would recommend. The bread pudding is also amazing.
