I recently visited 5280 Burger Bar and unfortunately left feeling underwhelmed, especially for the price. We started with the 5280 Nachos (fresh fried corn chips, green chili queso, pico de gallo, black bean and corn salsa, and fresh jalapeño). While they sounded amazing on the menu, they were surprisingly bland and lacked the bold flavor you’d expect from those ingredients. The fried pickles were also on the bland side, though I will say the house-made ranch dressing was really good and probably the highlight of that appetizer. I ordered the 5280 Burger. It looked fantastic when it came out and was cooked well, but flavor-wise it was just an okay, basic burger. The veggie burger also looked better than it tasted, though it ended up being better than the other items we ordered. That said, the service was excellent. Our staff was attentive and friendly, and the restaurant itself was well decorated, bright, and welcoming. The atmosphere definitely added to the experience. Overall, it was a pretty expensive meal, and the fact that the burgers didn’t even come with fries made it feel even less worth it. The presentation was great and the service strong, but the flavor just didn’t match the price point.

I had the Durango burger, fries, and the lobster mac & cheese. The food came out really fast, and the service was great. I didn’t expect jalapeño cream cheese to work on a burger, but it does and adds good flavor without being too much. The lobster mac & cheese was very good, and the fries were too. The waiter was really nice and attentive. They also offer a free drink with proof of a Paramount Theatre ticket, which was a nice bonus. If you’re looking for great food before a show at the Paramount, this is a great place to stop.

This is a nice location along 16th Street. There's outdoor seating options. There are a few TVs showing sports but I wouldn't call it a sports bar. Not every seat has a good view of the TVs. to me they are more for ambience. The vibe is earth tones and sparse. The staff is friendly and the kitchen crew delivers your food. The wait staff takes orders and refills. There's an obligatory 2% tip on the bill for the kitchen staff. While I like the food, to me it wasn't special enough to make a trip downtown, but, if in the area it is a good place to go. They have other options besides bergers.

Music was off after the first 5 minutes of getting here. My bartender just kept flirting with this girl that works at another restaurant nearby. He would take forever to go check on my cold food. (Ok that was a little dramatic, luke warm is better to say). However, homeboy was not very attentive. Even to nearby tables that belongs to the bar area. I had several burgers here before and I would recommend the smash burger, with a side of queso fries. The ring of fire is great for someone wanting comfort food with fun spice, and you get 1/2 off your second beer cause it’s so hot (I think it was pretty medium)! I’m typically into IPAs or hazy IPAs, however the draft 5280 IPA was just so flat and bland. Overall I would a say 3 star.

Great atmosphere. Good, but not great, food and service. For a place that features burgers I expect something far above average. But honestly, I would rather have enjoyed a good Double Double from In-N-Out. The rings were okay, but could have used some salt. The fries were the best part of the meal. They were delicious! There is an ice cream counter that I believe is part of the business. The ice cream was excellent, serving a premium product with outstanding taste and mouth feel. Maybe the place should be named 5280 Ice Cream Counter. It truly was a better product. But don't get me wrong, the food isn't terrible. Just not as good as expected.
